About this annual report


The information in this online annual report is presented in a different manner than you are accustomed to seeing on many websites. The full content of the annual report is divided into articles. Keywords are linked to each article, which are found in the menu on the left.
You can search the annual report simply by clicking on a keyword on the left-hand side. This enables you to refine your search results. After each click, only those articles will remain that correspond with the keywords you have clicked. This makes it possible for you to find the information you are looking for quickly from various angles.

For example:
Imagine you are looking for figures relating to mortgages that were extended to private customers in 2007. 
You can first select ‘Mortgages and Lending’ (please refer to illustration 1). All the information relating to Mortgages and Lending will now be displayed as search results. The list of search results will show you both the title of the related article and a brief description of the content.

You can then click on ‘Private Customers’ (refer to illustration 2). The list of search results will now contain articles that relate to both ‘Mortgages and Lending’ and ‘Private  Customers’. There are four articles that fulfil both search criteria.

You can then refine the search result for the final time by selecting ‘Balance Sheet’. The search result now consists of two articles that meet all three search criteria (refer to illustration 3).

Click on the title of the ‘Loans to private customers increase by 11% to 244 billion euros’ article to open the article that corresponds with your search request: The article contains figures on the mortgages extended to private customers in 2007 (refer to illustration 4). The chapter from which this article is taken is shown at the bottom of the article. In order to place the article in its proper context within the annual report, simply click the link to open the PDF of the annual report on the right page.

The search path that you have followed to reach this information is shown at the top of the page. You can, however, click on keywords in any random order in order to arrive at the same article. You may also cancel certain selections by clicking on a * in the click path at the top of the page. You can then refine your search further using other key words.
